Snus is exploding in popularity, especially among Generation Z and within gym culture. The Swedish smokeless tobacco product has become extremely popular with younger generations.

The global snus market is projected to grow from approximately $3.2 billion in 2023 to $5.3 billion by 2033.

In terms of statistics, ZYN sold 385 million cans in 2023. It is also the #1 nicotine pouch brand in the United States, holding a dominant market share. While ZYN's global growth continues to accelerate, its cultural presence is especially strong in the U.S. As the largest consumer market in the world, having a dominant position in the U.S. is a major achievement in itself.

If a meme subculture continues to develop around the product, a Lindy effect could emerge, suggesting it may remain relevant and widely adopted for years to come.

Enter Zyncoin.

Zyn subculture: who is part of this movement?

The pre-packaged version of snus (ZYN) dominates the market with an 84% share, a clear indication that we are witnessing the rise of a powerful new trend.

And every new trend develops its own culture.

If there’s one thing we’ve learned from the crypto markets, it’s this: capturing culture happens through memecoins. PEPE, DOGE, MOG, and recently SPX6900 are some of the most notable examples of memes evolving into tokens.

Because people can easily relate to the symbolism behind these memecoins, they foster cult-like communities that remain fiercely loyal to their respective subcultures.

Zyn is one of those subcultures. And now, it’s been baked into a memecoin.

Zyn has become more of a meme than a product, especially online. Platforms like TikTok, Reddit, and X are full of ironic tributes to Zyn. It’s often used as a stand-in for masculine “Grindset/Sigma” energy, a trend that’s been rising over the last few years:

  • Coffee
  • Making money
  • Lifting
  • Zyn
  • Gambling
  • No sleep (hustling)

These characteristics are wildly popular among younger generations, especially within the crypto community.

Zyncoin: the Sigma culture bet

Launched in 2023 on Ethereum and Solana, it surged to nearly a $200 million market cap at its peak. Since then, it has retraced over 90% and recently found a solid bottom. While many have forgotten about it, this presents a compelling re-entry opportunity.

The community remains highly active, drawing comparisons to the revival of $JOE, another niche culture-driven memecoin.

After $JOE bottomed in May, it made a big comeback, rising from the ashes and even breaking its all-time high. What fueled that rally? A loyal/active community and a resurgence of activity on Ethereum's on-chain ecosystem.

If you caught that bottom, it was a clean 7× return.

Joe coin chart

As $JOE earned its stripes as a cult-like coin, ZynCoin remains undervalued, especially when you consider that ZYN is a mainstream meme, while JOE is more of a niche reference. Most memes have a short attention span, but ZYN’s virality, combined with the addictive nature of its product, makes it a compelling Lindy-effect bet on meme longevity.

Just like $MOG is used online to "mog" people in comment sections, $ZYN is increasingly used to flex your grindset journey.

With the rise of sigma figures like Andrew Tate, the decline of woke culture, and a generational shift toward masculinity and faith, it’s no surprise that “sigma” coins like $MOG and $ZYN represent massive bets on both the present and the future.

Since the majority of crypto participants are male, the Sigma Male Mindset has become one of the dominant cultural undercurrents in crypto.

And because memecoins are seen as “the trenches”, a high-risk, high-reward path to financial freedom, tokens like $ZYN are perfectly positioned as the coin of the grind.

Mcap comparisons of new gen memecoins

There are plenty of dog and cat coins, but very few subculture coins that truly represent the current generation, specifically, the rise of Sigma culture.

The use of Pepe became popular on 4chan, an anti-woke forum known for its stance against censorship and alignment with conservative values. 4chan peaked between 2008 and 2020, when being part of the forum was considered edgy. In recent years, however, conservative views have become more mainstream, and many of 4chan’s original users are now millennials.

DOGE emerged in 2013, going viral on platforms like 9gag. It quickly became the biggest memecoin in crypto history. While dogs and cats remain popular, the Doge meme itself has faded. Newer generations were simply too young to experience the meme in its prime, and it’s rarely referenced today.

Still, due to the Lindy effect and its status as the first major memecoin, DOGE will always hold its crown.

Here’s the point:

New participants are entering crypto, and they belong to a new generation. The dominant identity of this cohort is the "Sigma Male", focused on discipline, self-improvement, and the hustle. It’s all about becoming the best version of yourself.

$MOG is leading this cultural meta. $ZYN is next.

The lawsuit arc

Just like every cult has its own cult leader, ZynCoin has CK. The developer, has been actively championing ZynCoin for some time, committing significant resources and energy to make $ZYN a success.

But the journey hasn't been without obstacles. One major bump in the road came in April 2024, when ZynCoin was hit with a lawsuit.

In April 2024, CK received a cease-and-desist notice from Philip Morris International, the $140 billion tobacco conglomerate behind the real-world ZYN products.

The $ZYN memecoin had grown so large, it caught the attention of a corporate giant. The issue? Trademark concerns around the use of the ZYN name and branding.

After a stressful few months, CK managed to reach a settlement with Philip Morris. The agreed-upon terms were:

  • ZynCoin could continue to exist, provided it didn’t use their trademark
  • Language changes on the ZynCoin website
  • Adding a "$" sign to the logo

These terms were surprisingly generous, especially considering how closely the original logo resembled the official ZYN branding (which, ironically, makes it even more bullish). With the case officially settled in June 2024, there’s no longer any brand risk.

ZynCoin is now free to continue its path forward, as the definitive memecoin of sigma culture.

Pouchconnect

In June 2025, the ZynCoin community launched a side project aimed at bringing real-world utility to $ZYN holders:

This platform allows $ZYN holders to receive discounts on real-world products, events, and services, starting with Snuszyn.

The process is simple:

  1. Buy and hold $ZYN
  2. Visit PouchConnect.com and connect your wallet
  3. Based on the amount of $ZYN in your wallet, you’ll be assigned a discount tier
  4. Generate a unique discount code
  5. Order your pouch with the applied discount

It’s an early example of how memecoins can bridge on-chain culture with off-chain utility, and it positions ZynCoin as more than just a meme: it’s becoming a movement.

Discount tiers based on amount of $ZYN holding

Seeing community members collaborate to expand Zyn culture and bring real utility to $ZYN is a strong green flag for the project. As mentioned earlier, $ZYN is a memecoin based on a real-world product, which sets it apart from most other meme tokens in that segment. Now that the lawsuit has been settled, there’s clear legal ground to build utility around the token and even explore partnerships with the brand itself.

What was once seen as a legal risk has now become a competitive edge.

ZynCoin isn’t just surviving the regulatory pressure, it’s turning it into momentum.

Conclusion

ZynCoin stands at the unique intersection of culture, utility, and innovation. Emerging from the growing popularity of ZYN, the leading nicotine pouch brand , ZynCoin captures the essence of today’s Sigma male grindset generation. Unlike most typical memecoins, it’s rooted in a real-world product and community that thrives on hustle, discipline, and authenticity.

Despite facing significant challenges, including a high-profile lawsuit from Philip Morris International, ZynCoin navigated these hurdles successfully, turning legal risks into strategic advantages. With the launch of PouchConnect, the community has begun to bridge the gap between digital assets and tangible, real-world benefits, further strengthening the token’s value proposition.

As crypto continues to evolve, culture-driven projects like ZynCoin demonstrate the power of identity and community in driving adoption and growth. Positioned as the definitive memecoin of the new generation’s mindset, ZynCoin is not just a token, it’s a movement that reflects the values, humor, and ambitions of today’s hustlers. Mostly (young) crypto gamblers.

At a market cap of under $7 million at the time of writing, ZynCoin is my low-cap memecoin bet alongside MOG. I usually don’t write long articles about memecoins, after all, it’s a memecoin, right?

But the lore and narrative behind ZynCoin hooked me. I strongly believe in the Sigma male grindset thesis overall, and I wanted to make a conviction bet on a memecoin for once, outside of my usual fundamental plays.

Zyncoin and MOG form my barbell strategy in memes for now.

Disclaimer: This is part of my personal portfolio. Memecoins are tricky. $MOG and $ZYN are one of the few allocations in memes in my portfolio as moonshot plays.
